European HO

Desperately trying to find a way to produce a quality working model railway, I had a brief fling with things European sometime in the 1980s. Unfortunately, despite the exquisite quality of the products, I didn't really identify with the prototypes and the infatuation faded quite rapidly. This indiscretion has left me with a rash interest in certain locos, however, especially some of the more attractive electrics found overseas. I pick up the odd one, now and then, but it's not a serious habit. I could give it up any time I wanted, really...

Roco's superb model of DB's celebrity 18201 loco. This is the version supplied ready-fitted with DCC and sound - not cheap, but the attention to detail is second to none.

Another excellent Roco model, S3/6 number 3601. Again, this is the version supplied ready-fitted with DCC and sound.

Nigel Emery's Roco German (DB) Class 103 electric loco. Previously mine - you can tell by the inevitable Kadee coupler.

One of mine, a Roco model of an E44. This came ready-fitted with DCC and sound, a marked contrast to much of the UK market where even a light bulb is a rarity. Detail parts not yet added, once again.

Nigel Emery's Swiss Railways (SBB) Bahn 2000 Bt, as modelled by Roco. Note the way train set curves are accomodated by moving skirts, and a cam on one axles controls the directional lighting whether you're using DCC or not!

An old Roco German (DB) BR 111 electric - product #04133A. Despite it's age, the detail on this battered example I bought in the early 1980s stands up well against most current UK releases.
